With the week winding down, things are really gearing up here in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. We’ve got street closures, events and traffic galore. But hey, we love it. Anytime we get a chance to be in the national spotlight is a good one (except when it’s hurricane related – don’t mention the K-word).
Anyway, right now is a time of great hustle and bustle. I actually got to work as a volunteer in the social media command center on Tuesday. It was pretty cool, and I got to work with some of NOLA’s top social media brass. Natch!
But today we’re focusing on food. Delicious Super Bowl-friendly food. Today I present a Garlic Bread Pizza recipe. I first heard of this concept back when I was working on the Kicked Up Sandwiches promotion.
Emeril has a recipe for garlic bread pizza in his book. However, I didn’t consult the book prior to developing this recipe. I just took the concept and went with it. I am pleased with the results.
1 loaf garlic bread, baked
2 cups hearty tomato sauce, heated
2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Step 1
Pre-heat your oven’s broiler.
- Step 2
Smear the warm red sauce on both halves of the the garlic bread.
- Step 3
Top with shredded mozzarella.
- Step 4
Place under the broiler for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes until cheese is melted and browned.
- Step 5
Top with chopped fresh parsley and serve.
