Cream Cheese and Parmesan Asparagus

I don’t know about you but I’m always on the hunt for easy and delicious side dishes.

I’m always leaning towards potatoes or corn because that is what I have on hand, but when Asparagus is on sale I am always sure to stock up. Typically I would just lightly drizzle some olive oil and some coarse salt and broil it for a few minutes, but my mom discovered a new and AMAZING way to make Asparagus. Seriously, my friends, it is delicious!! It’s called Cream Cheese and Parmesan Asparagus, and it’s definitely a new addition to the meal plan.

INGREDIENTS:

1 puff pastry sheet
flour for dusting
10 pieces asparagus, ends trimmed
5 ounces cream cheese
1 egg, beaten
parmesan Cheese

 

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  • Step 2

Roll the puff pastry sheet out and layer generously with cream cheese.

  • Step 3

Cut pastry into 10″stripes.

  • Step 4

Wrap one strip around one spear of asparagus.

  • Step 5

Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

  • Step 6

Set in oven for 10-15 minutes.
